There are no prizes in WIPP, (for the moment), but we do organize a draw. In addition to the main inter-club challenge, the ChiefWipp makes a random draw among all the scores registered that month and the result is the WIPP Round Draw Score.
The score is used to designate both the draw club of the month and the draw player of the month.
Many clubs will have the same score, so a second draw is made to provide one winner. The winning club and player receive a WIPP certificate and, if they so wish, they may publish an article or interview on:
WIPP also provides a hole-in-one certificate for all those players lucky (good?) enough to make an ace. WippReps should remember to record all aces on the monthly results sheet.
If and when WIPP has gained sufficient mass and reputation to attract a suitable sponsor, winners may receive prizes in addition to the certificate.
We must insist that this monthly event is in an experimental phase and it will require the goodwill and cooperation of all concerned. We also hope that clubs and players will come up with suggestions for refining and improving WIPP as we go along. Their WippRep can make proposals and the Council will vote to adopt or not.
For over a century now, the wonderful game of Pitch & Putt has suffered in the golfing world from a negative image and was rarely taken seriously. We hope that WIPP will help us change that image, but we can only do so with your help. Enjoy your WIPP Round!
